Super Bridget

Hi friends! Well I have Super Emma, or as I call her Super Bridget all done. I went and bought a white 5x7 frame and I just had to trim up the linen a bit and lay the finished piece in there. I did not have enough linen on each side to properly lace it as I usually do when I frame a piece. So this piece it just laying in the frame, but it looks great. You cannot tell. SO I am pleased.

Here she is, Super Bridget, my physical therapist.
What do you think? I wonder what Bridget will think?! I have been going to Bridget for therapy for 4 months! Can I tell you, I will actually miss her! She is such a nice person. She is just 6 years younger than me and we get along great. I will gift this to Bridget at my last session on the last day of this month.
This is stitched two over two on 32ct white linen using the recommended DMC except that I did not use sparkly purple, I just used the plain DMC purple. And I changed the skin tone to match  Bridget's. I also changed the eye color and hair color.

I got rid of the big needle that Super Emma is holding and made up a fist for Bridget. I added in this verse. I thought it needed a little something.

This is the original Super Emma chart from DMC. Thank you once again Montse for saving this free chart and sending me a copy!

I am stitching away on the August wreath for the cubby shelf.

I have been remiss in showing this lovely gift given to me by our friend Gracie. I am so sorry Gracie. Here I had this pretty ornament sitting right by my laptop on purpose for a week to remind me!
Thank you once again Gracie for gifting me with one of your beautiful creations!

We are still having the hot, hot weather here. My neurologist increased my Topomax yet again. It appears to be helping. I am not having the horrid squeezing headaches daily. Then again, I am NOT outside at all.😥The neurologist's goal is for me to be able to get outside this summer. To be honest, I am scared to do that. It has not worked for me since I got the stupid steroid shot over two years ago in my neck that caused these nasty headaches in the first place! I figure I will just go out when I have to only, and keep the headaches away.

If you missed it in my last post, I am having a giveaway of a Chessie & Me chart. Click HERE to enter.

Thank you for your prayers for Scott & Jenny! Let's keep on praying for those two shall we?💕 They need it! Scott is waiting to go to City of Hope to have surgery. He needs to get his cancerous kidney OUT!🙏

I am really thankful for you all my friends. Truly. If any of you have any need, if you need someone to talk to, I am here for you. You can reach me through my email. If you want someone to pray for you, I am here for you. God  bless you my friends. May you be blessed every minute of every day this week.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all.  1Chronicles 29:11

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Oh Vickie...

Super Bridget turned out wonderful! I know your physical therapist will treasure this gift! I completely understand about missing the people who help care for you. I have made so many wonderful friends during my battle and I have found saying good-bye to be difficult.... I miss them when I have had to move on ☺️ What surprised me the most is I found out quite by accident how much these people miss me! I am sure Bridget will miss you as well! Finding kind, caring and appreciative patients is a real treasure indeed!

Thank you all again for your prayers! We will know more this week!

Hugs and love to you my very dear friend! I hope you have a good week!

How cute is that, Vickie! Your physical therapist will be so excited--and I'm sure she will miss you, too. I feel so sad that you are unable to venture outside--I really can't imagine how hard that must on a pretty summer morning. Can you go out in a cool evening at all after the sun has gone down?

Greetings Vickie: I have them both in my prayers, will continue to do so.
Love the crystal ball so pretty, Gracie did a beautiful job.
Your Super Woman is adorable, I actually love the fist, what a great change to a sweet design.
I am loving the heat, but hey I am a little odd.

Love Super Bridget! Glad the framing worked out despite the lack of border fabric. So are you not going to see Bridget anymore?? I must have missed that somehow. I do hope the increased meds help with your headaches.

Perfect gift for Bridget. Love all your changes and added words.

Hope more Topamax does the trick and allows you some outside time. I know it's scary to even think of inducing a headache by doing that though.

She will love that design. It is wonderful. When I had complications with my artificial knee and I was in PT for almost 5 months. I got very attached to the wonderful young lady that helped me. So I totally understand just how you feel. Hopefully Scott will have surgery very soon.

Super Bridget looks awesome and your changes work so well! It's great that the framing worked out too. Your added verse is perfect so I'm sure your Super Therapist will be so touched. How often do they get neat things like that?! Gracie's little ornament is so pretty! I haven't braved beading things like that (yet?).

I hope things go well for your friends! It's too hot indeed. Maybe instead of the medicine we can stitch a solar blocker to put out on occasions so you can get out and about! Ignoring the soupy days that they can be, do totally overcast days cause drama too?

I'm sure your PT will love what you have created. The ornament that Gracie made is beautiful.

Super Bridget looks awesome! I bet Bridget will love her.

I think it's a wise idea to stay inside while it's super hot outside, more time for stitching!

Gracie's little ornie is so sweet, you must be very happy to be able to display it.

Super B is fantastic! I can't wait to hear what she thinks of it when you give it to her. Such a thoughtful gift.
Sweet gift from Gracie, lovely colours.
I'm sorry you can't go outside, but since it's so hot out there, take advantage of it!

Your PT will love the stitched tribute!! So cute!
Don't blame you at all for staying indoors during the heat of the day - you have too much at stake. Keep taking care of yourself, my friend.

Forgot to say (I don't see my other comment, but hopefully it's there) that I get on the treadmill almost every day too. Just tend to miss one day a week.
