Stitching and Slightly Crazy Over Here

Hi friends! The stitching of the small freebie is not going so well. All because I wanted a vintage look. I wanted it to look like an old sepia photograph. Well using DMC 4145 was NOT  the way to go about that. I figured that out after stitching on it for TWO days. One over one on 40 ct. Yes, you read that right. Wanna see the hot mess?
Um, yep. Can't tell what it is right? Nope. I am not telling you yet. 😉

The winner of the Stitcher's Sampler Pattern Giveaway is our friend Manuela. Manuela I need your postal address, and I will have this sampler pattern sent on it's way to you.

I have news. We are moving. After living in this pink and white brick home for 9 1/2 years, we are downsizing. This is our fourth home we have owned. We are now moving to an apartment. We have not lived in an apartment since the first year of our marriage. The apartment is two miles from this home, in our same little village. The apartment is on Main Street above the Italian bakery. I have never mentioned it, but in addition to Brian's full time work, he works a part time job as a baker. Yes, he is the other baker who works with the 75 year old Italian baker.

So. BIG changes for us. We had a HUGE rummage sale. Got a storage unit, put many things there for the meantime and have been getting our home ready for sale. My stash has NEVER been more organized or purged!! Yesterday afternoon the house first went on the market. We had a call from our real estate agent telling us a family would like to come see it. They came in the early evening. We are waiting to here from our agent today what the showing agent has to say about last evening. Here we go! I will keep you posted. 😵

I hope you have a wonderful weekend friends! I am so very glad you stopped by.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I stitched on a piece yesterday and after 2 hours of stitching I discovered I was out by 1 hole!!! and the mistake was right at the top of where i's started, so I feel your pain :-(

Hope the sale of your home and the move into the apartment goes smoothly for you. I don't have a clue what it is you are working on, so I am looking forward to being told or seeing more of the design come to life. Enjoy your weekend, Vickie!

I keep telling myself to pretend we're moving and downsize accordingly, but you're actually doing it! I'll pray everything goes smoothly and the house sells quickly. Now if you could just send those bakery aromas through your blog!

Over one on forty - no words. But I think the thread is nice. Good luck with the move. Second floor? I hope the steps don't aggravate your hip issue.

How exciting to have a new home! Please make sure you send me the new address. How will the dogs like an apartment? I expect they will appreciate the bakery part, I certainly would!

Wow, this is big news, Vickie. I hope that selling your house won't be difficult and that you will soon be able to move to your new home. Good for Brian that it's just above where he works his part time job. Good luck for everything.
I have no idea what you started stitching. But I'm curious to know ...

Moving is a huge undertaking. I send prayers your way that your house will seek quickly and that the move will be quick. :) Blessings to you always sweet friend. :)

Wow! This post certainly had some news! I hope that the move is exactly what you want, and that it goes smoothly. Moving is a strenuous, hard thing... You have me intrigued as to what the new piece will be... maybe next update will tell more! Hugs!

Oh my goodness Vickie: What exciting news, it is hard getting packed and even harder at least for me to unpack.
I like the colors and the design so far, I see it as a beauty so far.

Wishing you all the luck in the world with your move.
Love your vintage stitch hugs.

Good luck with your move, Vickie. How are you going to like going up stairs? Is there an elevator? How cool, though, that your DH is also a baker!

Von said...

What a surprise to read your news just now! I must say that the move does seem logical and I do hope it works out well for all of you!

Cindy said...

Wow Vickie, that's a big change to an apartment! I hope your showing went well, good luck with the house!

Carol said...

Oh, my! That is quite a change, Vickie!! I hope all goes well with the house sale and your move. It is probably a good feeling to rid yourself of all the extra "stuff" that we accumulate through the years, but I'm sure it will be hard to say goodbye to the house where the kids grew up... Wishing you the best!

They're saying here that it is a sellers market and I hope it is where you are as well. A big change for sure! But there are three very important things I miss about apartment living: the yard man, the maintenance man, and the pool man! I'm sure you'll handle whatever comes your way beautifully and your husbands commute just got eliminated! SCORE!
