A Little Bit Of November

Hi friends! How are you? I hope you had a good weekend? I did. Until...well, the sun. I went shopping to quite a few stores with Brian and Madeleine in the sunshine on Saturday. Then I grilled out hamburgers for our dinner in the sunshine. I started feeling a headache. Dummie me thought since I have been taking the iron for weeks, I was kinda getting over bad headaches. I thought I could get out and do things again. WRONG! I needed Imitrex yesterday and today. I have also been using lavender/peppermint essential oils on my temples. This headache will NOT let go yet!

We did watch Casablanca Saturday night together as a family. Madeleine watched it in her European History class and thought we would like it too, so we watched it at home. It is good, isn't it? I am assuming I am in the minority of people who have not seen it.

I finished up my little November freebie from our friend Palkó that you can find HERE. I have to say that this is my all time favorite monthly pattern that she designed.
I stitched this one over one using DMC 4140 on 25ct white evenweave. Here are my November stitches so far.
Here is the whole cubby shelf.
I am now onto another seasonal freebie. This one is by Hands On Design.

Here is a fun cereal we purchased this last week. The first person I thought of after our son Jacob, was Beth actually. ;)
This is what the view looks like out our front window. The leaves are certainly hanging on a bit longer this year.
That is it for today friends. Since it is another beautiful, sunny, warm day, I am going to ask Brian to BBQ the chicken tonight on the grill! Not me! o_0 I need to banish this headache. Come back next time for a seasonal Bent Creek chart giveaway.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I was plagued by headaches all weekend so I can commiserate with you. Do the essential oils actually help or just make you feel like you're doing something?

Love how your cubby is progressing. I may have missed your explanation at some point, but how do you get pieces to stand up? Does your mounted piece just fit perfectly in its place?

I agree; that is a great fall design. So sorry your headache relief wasn't lasting. I'm sure Brian doesn't mind cooking dinner tonight.

Oh Vickie I am so very sorry that the headaches have come back! I was so hoping that the iron would take care of that! I hope it goes away very soon...sighs.

Your November stitching is lovely as usual and I agree it is a favorable piece of mine as well. Your cubby looks wonderful! I think it is a wonderful idea to have yearly, seasonal pieces to switch out and enjoy every year. I really cannot believe it is November already!

The leaves outside your window are breathtaking! I miss living in the mid-west for lots of reasons but Fall and the changing leaves are one of the biggest reasons! Thanks for sharing it with us...it made me smile.

Hugs my friend!

Love that November finish. I'm so sorry you've been hit by another headache. Hopefully as your body recovers from the anemia they will disappear permanently.

Oh ugh on the headache! Definitely err on the side of caution from now on. You need to get over these episodes! Lovely stitching -- love your cubby -- so fun! So will you use the same stitched pieces each month now that you have them? And keep adding more?

I definitely like that November piece too... Fall colors are just so striking! Our trees have not all changed colors here either, but these chilly mornings are bound to have an effect. I am sorry you got a headache again, and will pray it goes away quickly for you! Hugs!

Another pretty November piece, Vickie--the variegated DMC looks so pretty. I haven't tried it yet...

Well, hopefully, (for you, anyway!), the cool weather will be here to stay for a while and these headaches will leave you alone. Just stay away from fireplaces :) Take care now...

Sending prayers your way that soon your headache will be but a distant memory. Love your sweet little shelf with all the pretty things you've stitched. :)

Blessings always sweet friend. :)

I guess you'll have to consider yourself allergic to the sun, Vickie! My sister doesn't get the headaches like you do, but she does feel ill when she's in the sun, so that's how we describe her problem. And then I'm the opposite, lol! I love being in the sun.
Take good care of yourself and give yourself time! Hugs and prayers. :)

I love your November additions. I have never watched Cassablanca, so I guess I'm one of the only ones now--lol. Praying you through with your health.

How frustrating for the headaches to plague you again. Love the Palko piece for November and the colour is perfect. I keep my eyes open for small seasonal designs and saw that Broderie dot net are offering a lot of their Smalls for free. Most are 55 x 55 which is a nice size over one on 28 count. If you can't find the site, I'll email it to you.

I'm really sorry about the headaches. They can be so draining and of course it makes stitching so uncomfortable. I hope they get sorted out soon. I love your stitching, they are all amazing. And the display box is perfectly perfect. Thank you so much for your support over these last few months. I'm hopefully going to have a few months where I can get back into blogging and give some support back.

OHHH! I just got around to catching up on blogs and saw yours. Love your acorn stitch. And ohhh! The Packer's cereal. Today's my brother's birthday - he'd be tickled to have a box of Jordy cereal. I'll have to see if it is available on line! So funny!

I love the new addition to your November cubby shelf. Seeing all the three November pieces together I must say that they match perfectly. Wonderful colours and themes.
Sorry to hear that the sunshine still gives you so much pain. But it certainly takes a while until the iron works properly after it was on such a low level for so long.

Vicki, Vicki, Vicki...say to yourself...no sun, no sun, no sun. You should sit in the shade, like Cleopatra, having others bring you a cold drinks, fanning you with ostrich feathers. Really. Really really. LOL

I am sorry that the headache found it's way back to you. Hang in there, sweetie.

As for that November pattern. MUST. HAVE. LOL That is just too darn cute. It looks great in the variegated.

Have a good day!
