June SAL

Hi friends! How are you? It has warmed up here. The garden is finally beginning to bloom. So I have been weeding a bit daily with the poodles helping out.

I finally completed the June SAL from Snowflower Diaries.
I stitched this on mystery evenweave which I thought was 25 count. I am amazed this is the first counting  mistake I made in these eleven weeks of headaches. I have been experiencing blurry vision, mostly in the mornings and at night. It turns out the evenweave is NOT evenweave, but UnEvEnWeAvE. Ugh! Of all the times to run into this!!! The way I had it mounted in my Q-snap frame was 24ct going up and down and 28ct going side to side. :(  I started to notice something was very odd about one week into stitching it. The good news is that it still fits in the cubby it was stitched for. That is what is important. So it is all good.
The fabric is kind of an oatmeal in color.
I used DMC and VMSS one over one. I made a few changes in color: 3346 instead of 3362, VMSS 1795 Faded Sampler Red Light instead of 3777,and 932 instead of 931. I wish I had changed the colors on the bear to match the picture on the chart. She is too dark for me.
I am going to work on another June stitch for the cubby shelf next.

Unfortunately the headaches go on and on. I remain at a 3 or 4 on the pain scale daily. Unless I get outside. The sun and the heat affect the headache in a baaaaaaaad way. Ice helps, but... only so much. The pain goes up, but not really, really high. I am only supposed to take Imitrex if the pain goes really, really high(like a 7 or higher on the pain scale). So in the mean time I can take Extra Strength Tylenol, but only up to 12 days a month maximum. Rules, rules, rules. Headache please LEAVE!!

Thank you for your kind comments on my last post. I am so glad you stopped by today. I hope you have a good week! Miss Madeleine graduates high school this Saturday. I  may not be back until after then. Take good care of yourself!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

That un-evenweave issue is just maddening! You never know when it will strike. But I do like your finish. I'm stitching it now and I'm in the middle of the bear with the original colors too. I started with something lighter and didn't like that, ripped it out and when back to the darker. I believe there is a Goldilocks color combination that would have made me happier, but I'm leaving it. I over-think too many of these things and don't necessarily get better results for it.

Makes me so unhappy when I hear that you are still struggling with these headaches. They say time heals all wounds and I feel you have had enough time with this wound!

Wish I could help you.....I feel so badly for you - this shouldn't happen to such a caring woman. Love your stitching - I think it turned out cute.

Your bear looks terrific - he's very much the colour of our local bears. How frustrating about the fabric!

Wretched headaches! Gentle hugs and continued prayers.

Uneevenweave is so annoying! The bear is pleased that you made him taller andn thinner rather than shorter and fatter though!

Sorry the weather is making the headaches worse again.

Your June looks great, and I like the rich brown of the bear! Very striking!

Hopefully the weather will settle down and you'll get a bit of relief.

Oh, my goodness, Vickie...you did such an amazing job despite the uneven fabric. I can just imagine how difficult that was. It's beautiful!

I'm so sorry that your headaches still linger on. My prayers continue for God's complete healing and for you to be pain free!

Blessings - Julie

Your June Snowflower Diaries stitch is oh so cute. I was thinking what with the bear having come by my feeders, that I ought to stitch June even if I do not get to the other months!

Oh my, Vickie, that's the sweetest bear I have ever seen. And the un-evenweave fabric doesn't spoil the look at all. I hope hope hope that your headaches will get less with the time.

Hello Vickie,

I'm so sorry the headaches are still torturing you ...
Your bear looks fab anyway, very sweet. I long to stitch but I had/have no time, aaarrggghhh ... it will come one day I guess. Too much going on here.

Congratulations for all of you but especially to Madeleine and have a great graduation event!

Your June piece is lovely! Sorry to hear that the headache is still bothering you. I also know what it's like to have a never-ending headache as I've been dealing with it since a serious car accident in 1983. Keeping you in my prayers.

That's such an adorable finish! I've been drawn to bees designs lately, so I feel so connected with your finish, haha. I hope those headaches go away soon. Take care.

I do not know how you stitch at all with those headaches. I hope, and continue to pray, that you (and my sis) will find relief soon.
Love your June finish and your changes. Mine is done as well but now I'm fiddling with my May (or cow) block. Overall, I'm using a lot more red in mine than the charts call for but since I'm stitching it as one, big piece, I wanted it to have some continuity. So far, so good!

I hope your headaches stay away with all the upcoming graduation activities. Congratulations to Madeleine!!!

Urgh, that is so irritating! You did a wonderful job though, considering the fabric. I really hope your pain goes away soon, Vickie!

I had that "uneven evenweave" experience once on a piece I stitched for my mom back in the 80s, Vickie--it was so stretched out looking by the time I finished!! I'm glad your cute June finish still fits in your cubby hole :)

Dang I know it goes without saying but I really wish and hope for your headaches to go away. I am blessed I seldom have them and if I do they can be cured with over the counter drugs.

I love your Bear- I think he is my favorite.
