Hi friends! I have a small finish for the cubby shelf to share with you. This is July-Liberty Bell from the 2005 Cross Stitcher's Surprise Series from Rainbow Gallery.

I chose my own colors of DMC and used VMSS 1795 Tarnished Gold. I stitched this one over one on 25ct cream evenweave. You can find this and so many more sweet free patterns on the Rainbow Gallery site HERE

I am now stitching another July pattern of the cubby shelf. This one is a LizzieKate.

I thought I would share a doll from my childhood with you.
This topsy-turvy Snow White doll was originally always at my Grandma's house. It was for my cousins and me to play with. The dwarfs are finger puppets that snap on her dress.My Aunt gave it to me years ago when Madeleine was a toddler. I have had it in storage for years. Madeleine was afraid of the witch! So was I as a girl to be honest. I always played with the Snow White side.😉 My Grandma did not make this. A local woman did and sold them. I think this is just priceless.

Our family recently watched an excellent movie together, it is called Silence. I highly recommend it. Have you seen it? It is very powerful and stays with you for days after it is over. It is impossible to watch this film and not realize how blessed we are to live where we are not persecuted for our Christian faith.

    This bell is a great subject and represents many occasions. Very nice colors.
    Oh how nice that you still have these old dolls, they certainly bring a lot of memories.
    I hope it is not as hot with you as it is with us - it should be 38 degrees today - uff.

    Great finish for July.
    Love that Doll, what a great treasure!
    I have a Doll that my Aunt made a lot of clothes for.
    She never used a pattern, just made them up out of her head.
    It's too precious for me to get rid of.

    Your July "cubby" piece is perfect...those really are great little series of freebies. That doll is very special and reminded me that I have/had a set of dwarf puppets from when my daughter was little. Can't remember if I purged them when we moved..or not. :(

    Love your stitchy finish. The dolls are so cute. I always say God Bless the USA because we are truly blessed to live where we can express our faith and our joy in Him. Lots and lots of others places do not have this freedom. Looking forward to seeing your Lizzie Kate finish. Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend. :)

    Those old dolls are so special. We have one made by my children's great grandmother. Just a pretty girl, no witch! What a great patriotic piece. It will be perfect in the July cubby!

    I had to go and look up why there was a crack in the bell. History not social commentary!

    The doll is wonderful. When we did plays as children my sister was the princess, my brother was the prince and I was everyone else. I loved being the witch because I wore the black taffeta skirt and the black velvet waistcoat! When we did Snow White I was all 7 dwarfs, we tied 3 teddies to each arm and I was the middle one. We did love putting on plays for our parents.

    Hi Vickie! Just got back home from a nice week at the beach and was so happy to see a new post from you. Your first patriotic stitch is wonderful for your cubby and will look great.     I love the Bell, of course perfect for July.
    How sweet that you still have your doll. I wish I still had some of my favourites. I guess that's why I've kept so many of the boys toys.
    I've never heard of that movie, did you watch it online or get a DVD?
