Marching On

Hi friends! I want to share my March wreath with you finally. I did finish this on Monday, but, well, I have not been up to posting until today.
I stitched this one over one on 25 ct white Zweigart Dublin linen with the called for DMC. If you would like to stitch this pattern also, the pattern is available HERE

I am now stitching the April wreath. I am trying to get ahead. My disk replacement surgery is on the 15th. I am not allowed to stitch for TWO WEEKS following the surgery! I want to stay on my "stitching  schedule". I also designed my April poodle and stitched her already.๐Ÿ˜˜
The Last Rajah (Kellogg and Watt Book 2) by [Mazzeo, George]
I read The Last Rajah, book number two in the Kellogg and Watt series by our friend George Mazzeo!! I really enjoyed this book. The history lessons within were so very interesting. I had quite the chuckle at the end and I told George so!๐Ÿ˜‰
In the post-war South Pacific, pilot Duke Kellogg, co-pilot, Edwina “Eddie” Watt, and flight mechanic Nick Minetti, once again, find themselves up to their necks in mystery and intrigue. A harrowing emergency landing on a search and rescue mission leaves the crew of “The Deuce” stranded in a remote rain forest in central Borneo. There they must contend with treachery, headhunters, and a rogue Japanese patrol. Will they find the missing heir to the Rajah’s throne? Will they solve the mystery of the blue diamond? Will they escape with their lives? With time running out and the odds stacked against them, the crew must use all their skills to survive their search for The Last Rajah.
Quite a while ago our friend Cindy showed one of the neat Starbuck's mugs she got from Target. Cindy mentioned she does not drink coffee. I do not either, so I never go to Starbuck's, but it never occurred to me that I could pick up a Wisconsin mug from the Starbuck's within our Target. Thanks for the idea Cindy!๐Ÿ˜Š
Thank you for stopping by my friends. I want to thank each and every one of you who sends me notes of encouragement. The surgery is coming up quick now. I am glad! The pain is constant and intense now. I am praying for complete relief. Please join me in prayer?

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

  4. Hi Vickie,
The small wreath looks beautiful, the tulips fit very well. And the cup is very special, if you do not drink coffee, you can drink tea from it. Or just set up as a decoration.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your surgery and pray for you, that'll be all right.
    Big Hugs my friend, Martina

  5. Been catching up on your posts. Love Murphy the poodle! Love your tulip wreath! Two weeks with no stitching! Yikes! But it will be worth it. I've been keeping you in my prayers. We just got power (electricity) back on yesterday at 5pm (Thursday the 8th). We lost power last Friday (March 2) around 2:30 pm. Yes, that's right. No power through the second nor'easter. This week has been no picnic! So yes, I'm catching up with you now. :D Hang in there, my friend.

  15. Good luck with the surgery, Vickie - I hope that all goes well. Pretty stitching and thanks for the book review. My DS1 and DDIL live in Brunei on the island of Borneo - I hope that they are not having as harrowing a time as the heroes of your novel!

  19. What a lovely wreath! I see they are not daffodils after all so I don't feel too terrible about missing out on the freebies. I like tulips but daffodowndillies are The Best! Perhaps it was April's though...

I also do not drink coffee (too bitter, yuck!) but that cup is adorable. I wonder if there are ones for each state? I have seen the cities versions online.

G'luck on your surgery! It will go splendidly and you will be so much better and then your needles will really be on fire!

  20. Your little wreath is just beautiful. My prayers will be with you. I have a book suggestion. I just finished The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Jennifer Ryan. A WW2 story that I wish could go on much longer. I absolutely loved the story!! A good recovery read!!

  22. Good Morning Vickie....

Aren’t George’s books wonderful? I am so thankful for the friendship that we share as well!

Your wreath is just lovely and how organized you are to stay on your stitching schedule! I am anxiously awaiting your new poodle! You have such talent my dear friend!

I don’t drink coffee either but the rest of my family does and so Starbucks has been a familiar place on occasion. ( I do love their tea however...lol) Last Christmas Scott and Emily found me an adorable Fox mug ( yes I do love the cute little fox) so many cups of morning tea have been enjoyed in this mug! I hope you enjoy yours as much too!

I am praying every day that this surgery will take away this awful pain! I am hoping so much it does! Two weeks without stitching? I see a lot of books in your future...lol!

Sending hugs and love my dear friend!

  28. Well, the big week has arrived, Vickie, and I'm sure you are counting the hours until your surgery on Thursday. I will be praying for you and your surgeon and I know how relieved you'll be when it's over. The waiting and worrying is often the worst part of something medical, isn't it. Hang in there and don't worry about not being able to stitch. The most important thing is to rest and treat yourself well :)

Lovely tulip wreath--I do love them so much! Sending you a big hug and wishing you the best on your big day... ♥♥♥

Love your March wreath and can't wait to see your April poodle. I am going to stitch all your poodles, too, but haven't been quite up to much stitching the last couple of weeks. I'll share them on my blog when I do and let you know.

    Blessings to you, my friend!
