Hi friends! Guess what? Yep! The house is

one over one on 40ct cream linen using DMC#640 |
This wonderful freebie can be found
RIGHT HERE. You may notice the freebie is on a French site. It is also not labelled as "Maisie". I am calling her that. Why? Have you not seen the many, many Maisie Dobbs mystery books I have read this year and last?!? I am a HUGE fan of Jacqueline Winspear and Maisie Dobbs, so I just had to create a Maisie for my cubby shelf. I searched and searched for the right old fashioned lady that represented Maisie to me. It took me months to find her. Lots and lots of searching, but I found her.
I am very happy with this finish. Do you remember how I originally began this piece? Here is another look at it.

I am glad I scrapped that start and just began over again with DMC 640 instead.
I am now back to working on Anniversaries of the Heart.😊 That feels great! I am working on sampler #8, Clara Ellen. This sampler is dedicated to my mom.❤️ I will show you a picture next time.
Well, next up, is to wait for the house inspector to come by. Such fun. NOT. Always something, right?
I hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you for stopping by. Your comments brighten my day.
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Big congratulations on the quick sale!!! A lot of work to be done I guess, so good luck, dear Vickie!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Carolien
Congratulations on the quick sale, hope it all goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteMaisie is wonderful, the plain thread was a much better choice in this instance.
Congratulations! Beautiful stitching and lovely choice of thread.
ReplyDeleteHappy packing and all the best.
Good the house has sold - you can move on and embrace the changes in your life.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on that fast sale!! I really have to look up those books as I usually like the ones that you recommend. Plus, it's fun to have a series!
ReplyDeleteI love your Maisie! Hope your move goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well Vickie and your new home is soon filled with lots of happy times for you all. A busy month coming up for you.
ReplyDeleteThat was fast, wasn't it? But good for you so you can prepare for the move now.
ReplyDeleteThat lady looks gorgeous, and yes, she IS Maisie Dobbs :)))
Wow! 8 days is fantastic! And I hope that the inspector finds nothing major needing fixing. Moving in about a month, that will be a tall order. I know the kids are helping you, so it does not all fall on you. As for stitching, Maisie is very very cute...can't wait to see it in the cubbie, so I can actually see how tiny it really is! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat news Vickie, that was a very quick sale.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching.
wow - I didn't know your DH was a part time baker. My DH worked at an artisan bread company for 12 years. Not baking but inspecting product and running the delivery routes and the result of 12 yrs is living around my middle ! we are bread snobs forever ! He also worked for a year or so baking bagels for a national chain - I'm so glad there is no more 2am 3am wake up calls for him. So happy you sold your home quickly. you sound excited about the move - take care - Mel
ReplyDeleteSo much involved in selling a house and moving. 8 days - wow that is great! Hope everything went well with the home inspector. Seems like they always find something. : ) Maisie is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What huge news this is. Your moving and home is sold! Wow! Congrats Vickie! Beautiful finish. I've not heard of these books either will look into them. First thing that came to make be was she just sewed those beautiful curtains - Lol!!! No wonder your home sold soooo fast.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best with your new move.
Love Annette
Such great news! Vickie, congratulations for the sale!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty stitching! The new floss colour is very pretty, much better choice, it fits very well with the design!
Hooray!! Wow--that was quick! You must have had it priced right and I'm sure it was immaculate... Best of luck with the downsizing, Vickie--it will be so wonderful to have those tasty aromas wafting up from the Italian bakery :)
ReplyDeleteMaisie is so pretty and I know you'll enjoy your next AOTH block :)
Congratulations! I can just smell the bread and goodies baking in the bakery downstairs, lol. Maisie turned out great!
ReplyDeleteWow, under contract so fast! Be confident the buyers are just as anxious as you are about the inspection, I know I was when we bought ours! They always find something. Ours found both legitimate concerns (Stab-Lok breaker box, eek) and some that were like... huh? (Something about a banister not being the right length, I still haven't figured that one out.) Now you can have all the "fun" of boxes.
ReplyDeleteAnd Maisie looks great! I rather like the variegated floss, except for the palest part. But it looks great in the solid too!
Wow! 8 Days! I'm so glad for you! Guess you won't be getting in much stitching if you have to be out by October 13, but there will be time for that once you're settled in. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG - when I read the posts I have missed here, I regret it even more, that I have so few time at the moment.
ReplyDeleteYou sold your house? What a big news. I really hope you will enjoy your new appartment (and the extra time you will have, because of no gardening anymore and less necessary time for cleaning).
Oh and thank you for showing your favorite Christmas Ornies. The magazine is out and I even did not check that.
Maisie is such a beauty. You perfectly stitched and framed her. Such a pretty freebie!
Have a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!
Hugs
Hilda
WOW that was quick, Vickie!!! Congratulations my friend. Now you will begin making new memories in a new place. Love Maisie ...she is so sweet and so French. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such a quick sale!! Your stitching is lovely as always. Maisie does look like an old photograph. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo happy your home sold so quickly! They say here that it's a sellers market. That's a good thing! Now the work begins getting ready to move. Exciting times!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the quick sale Vickie and good luck for your move. I hope everything goes well.
ReplyDeleteYour finish is lovely.
I hope you are doing well.
Wow, that was fast, one less thing to worry about!
ReplyDeleteMaisie looks great, I like how she's all one colour.
Vickie, Somehow I missed this post---congrats on the quick sale of the house!
ReplyDeleteI have obviously been off my stitching blog for a while. I was so surprised to read you have sold your home and moving into an apartment. Congrats on your move. Look forward to pictures of your new home.
